2010
The Minnesota Community College Conference (MCAC) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced the 2010 Women’s Softball All-Division, All-Conference, All-Region teams and award winners. Mesabi Range College had two players selected to the Northern Division Team. Megan Beard and Kayla Blom have been recognized for their play with the Lady Norse during the 2010 season.
Megan Beard (sophomore, Eveleth MN.) was named to the MCAC Northern Division First Team, the MCAC All-State Second Team, and the NJCAA A All-Region XIII Team. Beard averaged .486 with 53 hits- 40 singles, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homerun and 39 RBI’S. She also stole 18 bases and led the team in runs scored with 47.
Kayla Blom (sophomore, Alborn, MN.) was named to the MCAC Northern Division First Team, the MCAC All-State Second Team, and the NJCAA A All-Region XIII Team. Blom averaged .346 with 36 hits- 17 singles, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homeruns and 28 RBI’S. She also stole 9 bases and was third on the team in runs scored with 33.
